A colorful mixture - 2004-06-03
In our last few updates, we more or less focused on a single theme. This time we have a colorful mixture again for a change. Our screenshot of the week shows a branch line meeting a main line; our building of the week brings some Southern flair, and perhaps even spreads a little of that holiday mood, our vehicle of the week is displayed in various versions, and this week's look into the studio is dedicated to a dog.

A little mission preview - 2004-05-27
This update is intended to give you a glimpse of the missions in the game. Our screenshot of the week shows an image from the third mission in the Europe campaign, the vehicle of the week may be used in this mission, the building of the week is a good hint, and our piece of music of the week reminds you of the sound of that period.

On the road again - 2004-05-20
This week's update focuses on passenger transport. Our screenshot of the week shows passenger buses. Who knows - some of their passengers might be on their way to visit our structure of the week.
They might even be listening to our piece of music of the week!

Helicopters and liquors - 2004-05-06
Our screenshot of the week presents the first heliport, and our vehicle of the week shows a helicopter in various paint coats to make use of it. Pilots are well advised to stay away from our building of the week – a drunk pilot is not very popular with his passengers.

Coffee, cargo planes and reggae - 2004-04-29
Our screenshot and building of the week have to do with roasting coffee. To transport coffee, you could of course use our vehicle of the week. This is shown in various paint coats again. It's a well-known fact that coffee beans grow in a warm climate, so our current music track spreads some Caribbean atmosphere.

Colorful locos, fertilizer and wallpaper - 2004-04-15
This time, we chose an American locomotive to be presented in various colors. So our screenshot of the week shows a colorful locomotive parade in the USA, and our vehicle of the week proudly presents itself in various different colorful examples. Our building of the week has nothing to do with colors, but is very useful for farmers. Our new colorful wallpaper more than makes up for this!.

Paints and Colors - 2004-04-08
This week's special subject, just in time for Easter, is colors. Our screenshot of the week shows a colorful locomotive parade, our vehicle of the week can be admired in a great variety of paint coats. Our building of the week is the place where all these colors are created, and our music track of the week dates back to a very colorful era.

A mock zeppelin, casinos and our new logo - 2004-03-25
Our screenshot of the week shows the vehicle of the week going at full blast, once more sharing the space with the building of the week. In addition, we're presenting you with our latest wallpaper, which shows our colorful new logo – we hope you'll like it as much as we do.

Memorable trains, gardens in full blossom and many faces - 2004-03-18
This week's screenshot shows both the vehicle of the week and the building of the week. And taking a look into the studio, we are faced with the - somewhat forced - smiles of all the team members.

Ships, bricks and modern music - 2004-02-19
The theme for this week's screenshot as well as the vehicle of the week is shipping. Our building of the week closes another production chain. And this week's sound bite is a lot more modern than our last update's.

Electric trains, ships, clay and a tune - 2004-02-12
Our screenshot of the week shows electrified railroad lines. Our vehicle of the week shows that even ships can't be used for any purpose. And while the building of the week focuses on clay, our piece of music of the week presents a tune from the fifties.

Tunnels, metal pots and pans, jumbos and videos - 2004-02-05
Quite a few of you will be interested in your first glimpse of a tunnel. This week, you'll also see the last link in the chain of aluminum production. This material was probably also used somewhere in our vehicle of the week. And this week the look into our studio takes longer than a fleeting moment.

Horses, aluminum and music - 2004-01-29
Our screenshot of the week as well as our vehicle of the week both boast extremely low-emission cars. The industry introduced in our building of the week section is however less eco-friendly. As our vehicle of the week section is rather focussed on the past, we are presenting you with a piece of music from the 1900's to go with it.

Switches, raw material and oxen - 2004-01-22
Eagerly awaited, lengthily discussed and now - finally - on display... yup, we're talking about none other than switches, which in our screenshot of the week now appear in public for the first time. Our building of the week makes up the first part of a series, the vehicle of the week is hopelessly out of date and rather picturesque.

It's all about wood! - 2004-01-15
This update deals with wood in various ways. First, our screenshot of the week shows how it's being taken away from the felling area, then processed in our building of the week. There must be an exception to every rule, so our vehicle of the week has nothing whatsoever to do with wood. The wood theme is revisited again with a look into our studio.

Bends, famous French engineering feats, and soccer - 2004-01-08
For our first update of the new year we have come up with something rather special: you'll be treated not only to a famous French building and a well-known French train, but also to the very first sight of bends in our railroad tracks! We are well aware, of course, that the look into our studio will pale into insignificance beside this.

Springtime, ore mines, diesel locos and puppies - 2003-11-27
To lift the somewhat gloomy fall mood, we'll let you take a look at some springtime scenery. Plus, there will be a significantly less romantic view of an ore mine, and a powerful locomotive to go with it. A glance into our studio might make you wonder whether we've finally gone to the dogs now.

Stations, hops, Russian airplanes and bugs - 2003-11-20
This weeks update shows a station with lots of activity, a farm with maturing hops, the largest freight airplane in the world and the whole truth about bugs.

Fat zeppelins, giant rockets and small dogs - 2003-11-13
A zeppelin not only now hovers idyllically over the scenery but also features as our vehicle of the week. Our building of the week is slightly more high-tech. And what we can see when we have a look at the studio is much, much smaller.

Garbage mountains, gasoline, unusual locos and a new face - 2003-11-06
This time we show you how garbage mountains are produced. Furthermore how gasoline is produced from crude oil. And because that is (of course) not enough we have added an unusual locomotive and a new face in the programming department.

Tank wagons, oil wells, tankers and knotted networks - 2003-10-30
This weeks update is (virtually) all about oil. The screenshot of the week shows an endless chain of tank wagons, an oil well and an oil tanker. A quick peek into the studio finds our system administrator not looking for oil, but knotted networks.

Cheese, fruit, ten wheels, but no coffee - 2003-10-09
The screenshot of the week shows how to make money with cheese. Talking about healthy food, we'd also like to invite you to take a look at our strictly organic fruit plantation. Less healthy, but impressive none the less: our vehicle of the week. And finally, there's the question of whether a coffee machine that's not working should be regarded as healthy or harmful?

Those of you who have always wanted to build a railroad line right through a forest might be interested in a peek at our latest screenshot. Anyone who feels sorry for pigs had better avoid looking at our latest building. Aficionados of famous European trucks might want to take a look at this week's vehicle. And even those who are timid by nature are quite safe to risk a glimpse at our stern lady of the week.

Homepage Update - 2003-05-19
From now on, our homepage will regularly be updated with new and topical input.
Every Monday we will publish a new vehicle, every Tuesday a new building, every Wednesday a new contribution from our studio or a "making of" report. And finally, each Thursday you will be able to admire the latest screenshot.
Because of these regular updates, we have decided to do without news messages. This does, of course, not apply to the news in other sections, which we will continue to announce as news.

Welcome - 2003-05-08
Here you'll find preliminary information on Transport Giant even before the coverage in the media begins.
Each week new info straight from the developers will help you bridge the waiting period until the release of the game in autumn 2003.
Transport Giant is being developed at JoWooD's Ebensee studio, renowned for such successful titles as Industry Giant, Traffic Giant and Industry Giant 2.
Just like the other Giant games generated in Ebensee, Transport Giant will be easy to master for beginners, but will hold sufficient challenges for experienced players as well.
While in Industry Giant the main focus was on producing and trading goods, Transport Giant is all about transporting goods and passengers. The game begins in the year 1850 with sailing boats and horse and carts, and if you like, it will end in the year 2050 with superconductor trains and supersonic aeroplanes.
It will pay to check this homepage regularly: In addition to the latest info, we'll offer opinion polls - in collaboration with the official game forum - and their results.
That way, players will have some influence on what the final game will look like.
